What is an e-gadget?
An e-gadget is a ready to use interactive whiteboard resource such as an interaction (i-gadget), an animation (a- gadget), a picture (p-gadget) a question (q-gadget) or a voting activity (v-gadget) to enhance your lessons. See e-gadgets explained for further information.
Can I place an order using a School Purchase Order rather than with a credit card?
You certainly can if you are placing an order on behalf of a school or college in the United Kingdom. Just fax details of your order quoting product codes, your school address with the signature and name of authorizing member of staff to 0845 2805660.
I'm outside of the United Kingdom why can't I place an order for hardware?
We are only licensed to sell Promethean hardware in the United Kingdom. Please visit Promethean Planet to find your local distributor.
My school is in the United Kingdom but not on the mainland. Can I still order hardware?
You certainly can but there may be an extra carriage charge. Please contact us for delivery charges using the contact us form.
How soon will I receive my order for hardware?
9/10 times we have Learner Response Systems e.g. Activote and Activexpression in stock and orders will be dispatched the next working day. If we don't, it still wouldn't take more than 5-7 working days for delivery.
How do I download the topic packs once I've placed an order?
As soon as your order has been successfully processed the software products will be available for download via the links on your order confirmation and also for download at a later date via the My Account link.
How do I access the on-line e-gadget library once I've placed an order for the subscription?
If you have purchased a subscription to the e-gadget library we will provide you with a user name and password within 2 working days via e-mail. Once you have received your e-mail visit the e-gadget factory and click the log in button on the left hand side of the home page. This will take you directly to a log in page where you will be asked to enter the user name and password. Now you can choose to access your account and edit your details (choose a new password), access the user guide and launch the e-gadgets in the e-gadget workshop.
Will non-voting e-gadgets work in Smart Notebook?
Yes they will if you buy a SMART Notebook e-gadget Topic Packs - the e-gadgets are in the familiar Notebook format - each topic pack consists of a series of Notebook files and a collection of images that are ready to use on interactive whiteboards with SMART Notebook.
Why can't I use Smart Notebook with e-gadgets online?
Although we provide an online solution we can only do this within our own software - i.e. e-gadget workshop.
Can I use v-gadgets online?
Currently no, but we are investigating this possibility.
Can I write my own v-gadget questions?
Not at the moment - this is also under investigation however. Why not contact us and let us know of any specific ideas you may have.
Do I need any special software to use the e-gadget library?
No, but the site does require you to have a browser which is Javascript enabled and any popup blockers should be turned off. Below is some information on how to ensure this is the case in different web browsers.
