Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find the answer to your question, feel free to email the e-gadget factory support team.

What is an e-gadget?

An e-gadget is a ready to use interactive whiteboard resource such as an interaction (i-gadget), an animation (a- gadget), a picture (p-gadget) a question (q-gadget) or a voting activity (v-gadget) to enhance your lessons. See e-gadgets explained for further information.

Will non-voting e-gadgets work in Smart Notebook?

Yes they will. If you buy the CD-ROM version of the Design and Technology or KS1 Science e-gadget packs they will install into the gallery within Notebook.

Why can't I use Smart Notebook with e-gadgets online?

Although we provide an online solution we can only do this within our own software - i.e. e-gadget workshop.

Can I use v-gadgets online?

Currently no, but we are investigating this possibility.

Can I write my own v-gadget questions?

Not at the moment - this is also under investigation however. Why not contact us and let us know of any specific ideas you may have.

What is the major advantage of being an online library or subject subscriber?

The major advantage is that you receive updates to the content and e-gadget workshop enhancements with no installation hassles.

Is the e-gadget library good value for money?

We believe it is as you get more than 240 flash interactions and animations as well as over 100 question based activities and over 1500 illustrations and photographs, all directly related to the curriculum - at a very good price.

Can I use e-learning credits to purchase e-gadget CD-ROMs or a subscription?

Yes, you can. Why not place an order using eLC's today!

Can I use e-learning credits to buy voting hardware?

No, this is not allowed, but if you purchase our software at the same time using eLC's we can offer a discounted hardware price as you will see on the order form.
