Field Sales Executive

Salary: Basic + Car allowance + Commission, OTE c. £40k
Location: Based at Leyland offices at Matrix Park

Company description

Lancashire Digital Limited (LDL) is a developer of educational content which can be viewed on this website. Over the last few years the company has developed its own products, marketed mainly via its website, that now require direct selling. The company aims to move towards an increased emphasis on product sales by recruiting a sales executive who can initiate this process in this competitive field.

Role overview

We are looking for an energetic, confident and motivated Field Sales Executive with up-to-date experience of selling into the Primary and Secondary Education Sectors. The position involves selling software, and associated hardware, mainly into Primary schools, with an element of Secondary. The person appointed will have complete confidence that they can generate a substantial part of their income through sales.. At this time there are no other field sales staff, so this appointment provides an opportunity to expand the role to a management position potentially heading up a sales team, subject to generating sufficient sales.

The person appointed will be able to demonstrate a successful background of exceeding sales targets of educational software and/or hardware to UK schools.

The successful candidate will have a clean UK driving licence, as well as their own car, and will receive a car allowance. There is no limit on commission so a strong sales executive could potentially significantly exceed the estimated OTE figure.

The person appointed will:

  • Have a proven ability to successfully arrange around 6 appointments per week in Primary Schools to demonstrate our products
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of the Primary and Secondary Sectors in terms of their funding cycles, organisation and ICT equipment and software including knowledge of competitive products
  • Demonstrate the ability to close deals with schools and local authorities by referring to past experience selling into the Primary Sector
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Give convincing demonstrations using classroom technology
  • Be able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills
  • Be very ambitious and able to produce sales plans to allow the company to expand
  • Be confident that they can become familiar with our products in a very short space of time
  • Be confident that they can generate a good level of initial sales within 3 months of their appointment

Responsibilities

The person appointed will be responsible for:

  • Generating leads, developing relationships and closing deals
  • Meeting the minimum sales targets set down
  • Booking appointments with schools and demonstrating products
  • Demonstrating products to a minimum of 6 schools per week
  • Developing strategic and tactical plans to deliver revenues in association with the Directors
  • Delivering accurate sales forecasts and pipeline information
  • Attending and participating in exhibitions as required

Please email us at salesexec@lancashiredigital.com expressing interest in the position and attach your CV. Remember that a successful record in education sales is essential.
